Indirect Tax Ombudsman
The government of India has created 7 posts of Indirect Tax Ombudsman at 7
stations, namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and
Lucknow under the Indirect Tax Ombudsman Guidelines, 2011.
If citizens have complaints and field officers don’t respond to their
grievances, citizen could approach jurisdictional Indirect Tax Ombudsman in
terms of Indirect Tax Ombudsman guidelines 2011. Seven Ombudsman offices
are located as below. Details of office of the Ombudsman are available on
website CBEC Gov Portal.
